Jeffrey Wilde @ 6:00 pm

I'm going to kick off the discussion with and email I just received…

Hi Jeff: I just listened to this video and am wondering if you have heard anything negative about cmsFX brokerage as that is the one I have been trading with. Also, what are some of the good ones out there.

How have you been ….. Linda

Robert @ 6:24 pm

Hi Jeff,

I have been in sales most of my professional life hence, it takes one to know one… I like a broker that will give me service by trying to meet my needs. I have tried three brokers. Two of them called me almost immediately to see when I was going to turn my demo account into a real one followed by countless e-mail messages to persuade me to do so as soon as possible so that I "don't miss any opportunities".

The only one that did not and has not in two years has been IBFX. Every time I have called with questions they are courteous and timely with their help. I have never had a problem with their feed and my funds are credited promptly and correctly.

Be well,

Robert

I like MB trading as they are an ECN broker.

Good fills, and from what I understand your stop loss is not known to their liquidity sources so stop hunting should not be possible.

Thanks for the post! This seems to be very interesting!
This really helps in finding new people that much better can be trusted in doing such very important role in trading. They are the people that are very reliable in doing business even though the traders are not personally attached.

Thanks for this post!

You can check out http://www.topforexreview.com for some more feedback on a lot of brokers. Always do your own due diligence.

Charles @ 8:26 pm

Thanks for the open Blog, Jeff. I've used FXDD for 3 years and never had one problem…of course I don't scalp or try to trade during spread widening news events, so that may make a difference.
With the new NFA junk, I think I'm going to move my account to an overseas broker, too bad.(my funds will be held here in the US). Best regards! Charles

Have a look at FxPro.
You can dep. and withdraw via cred. card at no cost.
Variable spreads that are VERY good from London open onwards.
Based in Cyprus and no BS regulations.
Very helpful.
I've looked at quite a few and this one seems to offer what I would look for in a broker.
Really worth looking at.

I can't comment on which broker to use but I can add some comments on what brokers not to use. FXpro and IBFX are brokers I would NOT recommend. FXpro because they are based in Cyprus and in my opinion NO regulation is not a good thing to have, you always need some small form of regulation to protect you and your money. IBFX, well I used them for years and always had issues with fills/re-quotes, stop hunting all the time and these days it's spread widening, I've seen pairs like the CAD go as high as 30pips!!! when other platforms are are only like 7 or 8 pips and the really bad part is you don't see it in the charts, you get stopped out and when you call them they say "oh the spreads widened at that time to 20 or 30 or whatever and stop you out." and there is nothing you can do about it.
Not got business in my opinion.
My next move will be to an ECN broker.

Hi Jeff,

I agree with Robert, I'm with IBFX for years now and they provide an excellent service. IBFX hates scalpers that's why the spreads are so high at certain moments.
They provide incredible technical tools (scripts, indicators, PRS…) all just for free.
OK Pablo I tried many brokers and still do for demo trading, from time to time they "all" show the same shortcomings (server down, off-quotes…).
First of all I prefer a solid broker with great reliability, for me that's way more important tha a wide spread. My live account stays wit IBFX.

Best Regards,

Marc

Hello Jeff,

Well, i use marketiva and i have been dealing with them for the past 4 years now. A very great broker. Orders are executed in time and funds withdrawal and deposits are fast.

Love marketiva alot.

Jeff Wilde @ 3:30 pm

Received this email and thought I would answer in this thread since it focuses on forex brokers…

Hi Dr. Wilde -
I caught your time with Charles yesterday during his "grand reopening" of the fapwinner website. I was glad I did. Connecting with people you can trust in this market seems to be a big challenge.

My question is about broker's. Do you have a particular broker that you could recommend as fair and that has decent spreads; maybe you have a set to recommend? Thanks in advance for your reply. - Taylor

Answer: Taylor that is a tough one to answer as there are definitely some pros and cons to even the better brokers. I am however doing a lot of research and have one that will be my top pick. But… I'm first interviewing the company and doing some research on places like http://www.forexpeacearmy.com Will keep you posted.

Taylor Sparks @ 4:35 pm

Thanks Dr. Wilde -

I look forward to hearing what you have to say.

Hi Guys,

I have been trading forex for 3 years based in uk and i have came across atleast 15 brokers so far. i would recommend ALPARI UK LTD (NOT US BASED). they are very good and spreads has been really tight. On GBP/YEN their spreas is 6 pips. euro/dollar 2 pips.. but main thing is they are FSA uk registered so your fund upto £ 48,000 secured no matter what happens and you can hedge too. hope that helps.

good luck guys

Hello Jeff,
Great site, and looking forward to take advantage of your Key Market Reversal Levels.

I consider myself still a novice, trading live for only 3 months now. I have been using Oanda. So far, I have encountered no problems yet with them.

I chose Oanda because, as a new trader, I want to "test the water" with a smallish account. And Oanda allows me to have any account size; but more importantly, it allows me to have any trade size. Theoretically, I can trade with risk as small as $1. Which is nice for me to test out different strategies, with live account, but without sweating out over my exposure.

Oanda also has the lowest spreads on some of the major pairs around. For example, EURUSD can be as low as 0.9 pips during Euro US sessions.

I have not encountered any stop loss hunting yet. But then my trades have been pretty small for now. (Not worthy of loss hunting yet?)

Some minor negatives however are: (1) spreads can become huge around news time (I do not trade news anyway); (2) support can sometimes be slow to respond to my questions (but they do always respond); (3) the charting indicators are still rather basic (I use a free demo Metatrader from another broker just for its indicators); (4) the largest timeframe on Oanda's chart is the daily charts. (Again, I have to use my MT4 demo for looking at longer time frame)

But despite these negatives, I still rate Oanda rather highly. At least from my limited 3 months' worth of experience.

Cheers, and keep up the great work.

William

William @ 4:54 pm

Oh, and forgot to mention in my above post on Oanda:

(1) Somehow, although Oanda is a US based broker, their trading set-up is not affected by the NFA mess. I can still put in pending orders, stops, close trades in any order I want, etc.

(2) My experience with Oanda's execution speed has been superb. Almost always withing fraction of seconds or seconds I can get my fill (for market orders). But I have not tried news trading, so it may not be so easy during highly volatile periods. And my stops so far has always been filled with no or hardly noticed slippage.

Cheers,
William

At the moment I am using ATC Brokers for EA trading with great results (the account for ATC is with FXCM which is a UK based account) and Alpari UK for my manual trading and for EA's where execution is not too important…no complaints with Alpari UK and they are UK regulated so your deposit is protected.

Hi Jeff,

How can I make extra money with GallantFX? I believe that, aside from trader FX, referring GFX is one of the best way to generate funds for my trading account. Can you please give info about it?

Many Thanks.

Barry Kratzer @ 10:30 pm

Hi Jeff,

I was just about to join up with you when I decided to take one last look at Forex broker recommendations. Man, there is not one
broker that has a concensus saying they are totally honest! This
is after researching numerous Forex broker evaluation websites.
I regret that I will have to give up on trading Forex forever,
unless there is a whole lot of regulation applied soon. And that
is highly unlikely. The entire Forex complex seems to be riddled with crooks. It's a sad situation, but I can't afford to lose my hard-earned money to a gang of thieves.

Regards,

Barry Kratzer
