Is The US Dollar Dead?

Hello Everyone,
Over the past few months I have seen more and more pundits talking some very convincing arguments why the US Dollar will collapse and go the way of the Mexican Peso.
To make things more confusing I have seen some sources give some very believeable reasons why the dollar could have a strong reversal to the upside. I even saw one newletter that was talking about a group of secret investors that were going to make the dollar rise rapidly by infusing massive amounts of money into the market. Their argument was so good that it made me almost want to spend the $1000 to get the whole story.
Anyway… I say don't believe the talking heads on the news as they are usually wrong and nor should you trust the newsletter writers.
The thing about the newsletter writers is that they know conspiracy, controversy and doom and gloom sell big time and… I can tell you it is a trap to your investing success because it clouds your judgement. It essentially will make all your analysis skewed as you will keep trying to make the charts match up with what the guru told you was going to happen.
I remember back around 1994 there was a big selling book that was proclaiming the US would be bankrupt by 1995. The argument and facts presented were compelling and I am sure a lot of people pulled their money out of the markets. Well as you well know the US economy did not collapse in 1995 and we actually were leading into a huge run up in the market for 5 years. Countless people either missed out on the run up or got slaughtered as they tried to short the market all because the writer made such a compelling case for a financial meltdown.
I could talk for days on this subject, but what I want you to walk away from is to trade what you see on the charts and don't get brain washed by other opinions.(no matter how compelling)
Until next week, peace and prosperity,
Jeff Wilde

keek up the battle
at the end of the day we may win
Nice work Doc. I agree you cannot believe anything you see on any 'news' programs. Using your turning points has been a good way for me to get past this.
It is real hard sometimes but if you listen to a few of the TV experts and the do the opposite you can generally pick up the odd pip or so.
The problem is your head wants to believe the experts even though you know they don't know what the Hell they are talking about.
Hello Jeff,
Couldn't agree more regarding so called "experts" and "gurus" that know what is happening behind the scenes.
Every successful trader reacts upon what he sees on the chart and not consider the opinion of the others. Becoming an independent thinker is a real challenge at the beginning but the effort of becoming one is worth while. It is his/hers money on the stake and not the money of "experts" and "gurus" that the masses listen and read.

Filip
keep up the battle . a battle is over when we win it
Hi Jeff,
The biggest problem with the Gurus etc is that they all have a hidden agenda.
Just (properly) discovered your turning points and intend to make them part of my trading so thanks.
I don't have time - no, don't want to spend the time - so I will be looking at a daily or 4 hour TF so I'll see how you do!!
